A family living at Block 774 Pasir Ris Street 71 has been grappling with a persistent bee infestation outside their Housing Board (HDB) flat for more than six months.

According to Stomper AJ, he has reported the issue to the town council and HDB, but it remains unresolved.

"On May 30, 2025, the town council deployed an aerial platform to treat the bee problem," said AJ.

In a video he shared with Stomp, a worker is seen on the aerial platform tending to the hive.

"However, they failed to remove the nest, which is located around the air-conditioning compressor unit outside my flat," he said, adding that the unit belongs to the neighbour upstairs.

"They only sprayed the bees, so the nest remains.

"Because of this, bees are still entering my home, and just last week, my wife was stung again."

AJ said he is especially concerned about the safety of his eight-year-old granddaughter, who often stays over at his flat.

"To protect my family, I've been forced to seal the bedroom windows and toilet to prevent more bees from flying in.

"This is no way for anyone to live. We are in discomfort every day inside our own home."

He believes the only permanent solution is for the bee nest near the compressor unit to be properly removed.

"Residents should not have to go through such long, unsafe, and stressful situations - especially when they've followed all the right channels for help."

Stomp has contacted Pasir Ris-Punggl Town Council for more information.

According to the Ministry of National Development, members of the public should keep a safe distance from bee hives and avoid disturbing them. To report a hive, use the OneService app or, for urgent cases, contact the NEA at 6225 5632.
