Office team keeps winning Kiss92 radio contest, shares 'hack' in viral video -- and DJs respond
A group of colleagues discovered a way to consistently win prize giveaways on Kiss92 and after sharing their 'hack' in a viral video, the radio station's DJs responded with enthusiasm.
Stomper Alex explained in his video that the idea began after his wife won a Kiss92 game show called Wrong Answers Only on Sept 17.
That day's question was "What is Superman's biggest weakness?" and Alex submitted the answer "bad directors", which earned him $100 worth of Yochi vouchers.
Surprised by how easy it was, he wondered how many others might also be winning. Alex started to call in to Kiss92 with his colleagues from Oct 24.
During lunch at his office, Rently, he suggested a coordinated plan: one colleague would monitor Kiss92, and whenever a game segment aired, they would post it in a private Slack channel for the team to brainstorm answers together.
They would then flood the station with submissions while subtly slipping their company name 'Rently' into their calls with the DJs.
Some of their playful lines included:
- "I'm having chicken rice with my wife, Rently."
- "Walking my dog, Rently."
- "I'm going to Rently road to eat the famous bak chor mee."
- "I'm having mixed rice with my brother, Rently."
- "Shoutout to my cousin, Rently."
Alex explained that Rently is a company that helps renters finance deposits and offers insurance and verification protection for tenants.
He said the strategy worked because Kiss92 only announces contests briefly during the giveaway segment. The group discovered a pattern: a teaser at 12pm, the topic reveal at 12.15pm, a second announcement after two to three more songs, and results at 12.45pm.
According to Alex, Kiss92 would usually call him between the second announcement and the results – meaning timing was everything.
"Every time we joined the games, we always won," he said, adding that the prizes were often over $100.
He made the video because they had "run out of people to call" and wanted to share the method with anyone "as boliao as us".
Alex's TikTok video on Nov 27 has garnered over 41,900 views, 980 reactions, and 12 comments to date, with Kiss92 DJs responding warmly.
Radio host Angelique Teo commented: "Thank you for tuning in!!"
DJ Juliana Yeow added: "This is why everyone should listen to Kiss92!! Hint: prize giveaways all day long, not just 12pm."
Presenter Shawnrick Hu wrote: "Tune in tonight then! 8pm – 12 midnight on The Owls! We've got 2 prizes in store!"
