New Zealand dairy-free yoghurt drops recalled for not being dairy-free after child choked on it
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has directed food importer Optimo Foods to recall Kiwigarden’s Coconut Vanilla Dairy Free Yoghurt Drops, the agency said on Jan 13.
All batches are affected. The recall is ongoing.
This comes after Kiwigarden, the New Zealand manufacturer, voluntarily recalled the product from the country due to an undeclared milk allergen.
A child had choked on the snack, reported Radio New Zealand.

According to SFA, milk does not pose a food safety issue to consumers at large, except for those who are intolerant or allergic to milk.
Consumers who have purchased the implicated product, and who are intolerant or allergic to milk, should not consume them.
Those who are intolerant of or allergic to milk and have consumed the implicated products should seek medical advice if they have concerns about their health. Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries.
