New Zealand brand of snack products recalled due to 'potential presence of exceptionally thin metal'
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has recalled various snack products by the New Zealand brand Tasti, said the agency in a statement on Sept 26.
The Food Standards Australia New Zealand and New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries had earlier issued a notification on the recall due to the possible presence of metal pieces.
As a precautionary measure, SFA has directed the importers, Cold Storage Singapore, Redmart and Home & Health Distributors to recall the implicated products.
Tasti products are also sold by FairPrice.
The recall is ongoing.
Tasti said on its website: "Our stringent food safety systems identified the potential presence of exceptionally thin metal wire originating from imported raw materials used in a selection of our products.
"The safety of our customers is our top priority so we have recalled some of the products in specific ranges and are advising customers to dispose of the product."
The list of the implicated products can be found on the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries website.
SFA advised consumers who have purchased the implicated products not to consume them. Those who have consumed and have concerns about their health should seek medical attention. Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiry.
