Two children were recently filmed on an MRT train, with one riding a scooter and the other hanging from the handrails.
Posted by a Reddit user on Oct 17, the five-second clip shows the younger boy riding down the seemingly empty cabin while the older boy hangs from the handrails.
The video noted that all of this happened while the train was in motion, and the Redditor posed the question: "Where are the enforcers?"
Passengers seen in the clip are seemingly unfazed by the incident.
'Kids are kids': Netizens
"No consequences one," a Redditor wrote, saying the children would probably receive a warning at most.
Another commented that with newer HDB blocks having fewer common play areas, children sometimes have "no choice but to play in the MRT," adding that those without kids "won't understand".
A separate user noted that it "takes a village to raise a kid" and that if parents don't teach children proper behaviour, society will step in.
However, a user also criticised the person filming the video, saying that they should have intervened instead of simply recording the incident.
The New Paper has reached out to SMRT for comment.
