It is an offence.

Yet motorcyclists have been riding on the footpath to bypass the parking gantry outside the Marsiling Food Centre and Market.

Stomper Frenki shared videos of motorcycle after motorcycle doing so without impunity at Block 20 Marsiling Lane on March 10.

"They will ride their motorcycles via the pedestrian walkway to enter the carpark," said the Stomper.

"These Malaysian motorcyclists' behaviour have caused safety problems for elderly pedestrians and passing vehicles."

In response to a Stomp query a Land Transport Authority (LTA) spokesperson said on March 19: "LTA has been carrying out enforcement on the footpath outside the Marsiling Lane market and taking errant riders to task.

"We will continue our enforcement efforts."

LTA added: "It is an offence to ride a motorcycle on footpaths. Those found guilty can be fined up to $2,000 or imprisoned for up to three months or both."
