Motorcyclist with young child riding pillion stopped by TP at Punggol Way
A motorcyclist riding with a young child as a pillion passenger was stopped by a Traffic Police officer along Punggol Way on Feb 4 at about 2.30pm.
A Stomper observed the incident just after Yusof Ishak Secondary School, between the Sumang and Nibong LRT stations.
According to the Stomper, the child appeared to be a girl estimated to be below the age of 10.
"Young children may not have the strength or balance to hold on securely, putting them at risk of falling," the Stomper said. "It is unsafe and against the law."
Under the Road Traffic Act, it is an offence to carry a child under 10 years old as a pillion passenger on a motorcycle or scooter.
Stomp has contacted the police for more information.
