Is this a new trend?

More people have been caught on camera going through discarded items at recycling bins after a video of a similar incident went viral last week.

Stomper Sky shared a video of women scavenging in Sembawang on Feb 21.

"A maid and an auntie were spotted rummaging through neatly arranged piles of items beside the recycling bin at Block 339B Sembawang Close," recounted the Stomper.

"Although asked not to disturb the recycling items and create a mess, they continued their search.

"Many people try to be eco-friendly by placing items neatly for recycling, but individuals like them take advantage of the situation, leaving chaos in their wake as they walk away with free items."

On the same day, Stomper Lux shared a photo of three people allegedly ransacking a recycling bin at Block 134 Rivervale Street in Sengkang.

"Armed with suitcases, they were loading items into it," said the Stomper.

Just days earlier, a couple was caught on video raiding a Cloop textile recycling bin at Compassvale Drive on Feb 16.

Cloop co-founder Jasmine Tuan commented on the incident on Instagram: "Initially, we had only one or two reported cases, but now it's becoming more frequent and is getting out of hand."
