Monitor lizard takes afternoon nap on tree at Punggol Waterway
A monitor lizard was seen taking a nap on a tree branch at Punggol Waterway, drawing amused reactions from those who spotted it.
Stomper Nor, who shared a video of the sighting, said he saw the reptile on Oct 4 at about 6pm.
"It looked like it was sleeping on the tree," he said, adding that the lizard appeared comfortable as if it had found the perfect spot for an afternoon rest.
The short clip shows the large monitor lizard perched high above the water, seemingly taking a nap.
Monitor lizards are commonly found near bodies of water in Singapore, and it is not unusual to see them basking in the sun or resting in shaded areas.
