A huge snake was found coiled up on top of a car engine at 53 Ubi Avenue 1 on June 17.

Stomper Justin said his friend was taking the car for servicing at a workshop when the snake was spotted at 3.15pm.

Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Acres) was called to remove the reptile safely.

Justin shared a video showing men wearing Acres shirts gently lifting the snake from the engine.

"Big one eh," one of the men said.

The snake wriggled around while being held by the men, seemingly trying to escape their grasp.

Another man said: "Let it work itself out."

After some struggle, they finally stuffed the animal into a cage.

Asked if he was scared, the Stomper said: "Not me."

If you see any native wild animal in need of help, or find an abandoned exotic animal, please call the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Hotline at +65 9783 7782 (manned from 7am to 1am daily).

According to the National Parks Board (NParks), snakes are usually not aggressive and will not attack unless they are disturbed or provoked.

Members of the public who encounter snakes are advised to remain calm and keep a safe distance.

If you come across snakes persisting in an area, you can call NParks' 24-hour animal response centre at 1800-476-1600 for assistance.
