Member of public uses buckets of water to put out bin fire at Geylang East
A member of the public put out a fire involving the contents of a recycling bin at Block 132 Geylang East Avenue 1 on Jan 6.
A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared clips of Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) firefighters at the scene.
Smoke appeared to be coming from a green rubbish bin at the block's void deck.
In response to a Stomp query the SCDF said they were alerted to the fire at about 1.35pm.
"The fire was extinguished by member of the public using buckets of water prior to SCDF's arrival," an SCDF spokesperson said.
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
