A customer was left frustrated after discovering that the Happy Meal toys she ordered from McDonald's were not what she expected.

Stomper Juli told Stomp that she ordered three Happy Meals from McDonald's Woodlands Civic Centre outlet on Oct 7 at about 11.45am.

They were supposed to come with the limited-edition TinyTAN toys. However, when the delivery arrived, she received Sonic 3 toys instead.

TinyTAN are animated characters based on K-pop group BTS members. There are a total of 14 toys, available in blind boxes from Sep 25 to Nov 12.

"I called the hotline and was told that the store would get back to me, but that never happened," said Juli.

"When I called the store directly, the staff said the TinyTAN toys were out of stock, so they replaced them with Sonic 3 ones. How can that be? When I placed the order, the toys were still listed as available."

Juli said she would not have made the purchase if she had known the TinyTAN toys were unavailable.

"I even asked if I could exchange them at another outlet that still had stock, but the staff insisted that it couldn't be done," she added. "That was it - no solution offered."

Later that afternoon, Juli decided to visit the outlet in person to speak with the person-in-charge.

"But they just kept repeating that the toys were out of stock and that it was a system error," she said. "Another person even told me that the Sonic 3 toys were also blind boxes - I mean, that's not the point at all. If this happened to them, would they be happy?"

Juli said that despite reaching out multiple times, there has been no resolution. "The hotline just pushed it to the store to settle, and the store doesn't seem to care. The customer service email only apologised for the bad experience but didn't offer any solution."

She added that she later found out other McDonald's outlets still had TinyTAN toys available.

Stomp has contacted McDonald's for more info.
