It was a Valentine's Day surprise.

But not the one intended by Stomper Ray.

He had ordered flowers to be delivered to a special someone at her workplace during work hours, but they were instead delivered to her home long after work hours.

"It was a very bad experience," said the Stomper. "I used to purchase flowers from Fareast Flora, but this was last minute, so I decided to give Floral Garage a try."

He paid $403 for the bouquet to be delivered to the recipient's workplace in a shopping mall on Feb 14 between 10am to 5pm.

At 3.38pm on Valentine's Day, the Stomper checked with Floral Garage that his order would be delivered during the time slot.

The reply was "Still on its way."

At 9.19pm, the person whom the flowers were meant for as a surprise received a message from Floral Garage asking for her home address for the delivery.

That was when the Stomper realised the flowers had not been delivered.

Below are screenshots of his convo with Floral Garage.

"They changed the delivery to the recipient's home without informing me," said the Stomper, who shared a photo of the bouquet.

"I spent $403 on these flowers for Valentine's Day and they were delivered at 9.42pm even though the time slot given was 10am to 5pm. Please judge for yourself, are these flowers worth $403?"

After the Stomper posted a one-star Google review, Floral Garage replied: "We sincerely apologise for the frustration and disappointment caused by your experience. We deeply regret that we did not meet your expectations.

"Regarding the delivery timing, we acknowledge that we should have communicated more clearly about potential delays during peak periods.

"We also sincerely apologise for contacting the recipient to confirm the address, as we realised the shopping mall was already closed and made the decision to deliver to the recipient's home instead. We should have informed you about this change, and we regret any confusion it caused.

"We truly appreciate your feedback and will review our processes to improve communication and service in the future."
