Man wanted for failing to report for urine test among 4 arrested in Orchard Road area
Four men were arrested for being suspected members of unlawful societies and are also investigated for various offences.
One of them, a 27-year-old, was wanted for failure to report for urine test and arrested at Orchard Towers, said police.
Another, a 21-year-old, was arrested at Cuscaden Road for failure to attend in obedience to an order from a public servant and voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
Two others, aged 23 and 32, were arrested at Claymore Drive for suspected drug abuse.
Sixty-six public entertainment outlets and nightlife establishments and 227 persons were checked during island-wide operations that also included Geylang Road, Jalan Sultan, Middle Road and Circular Road.
The police are investigating a total of 24 men, aged between 17 and 32, for their suspected involvement in various offences.
These operations were led by officers from the Secret Societies Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department and supported by officers from the seven Police Land Divisions from May 19 to 25.
Anyone found guilty of being a member of an unlawful society shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for up to three years, a fine of up to $5,000, or both.
