Man in military uniform points middle finger at driver after crossing on red in Hougang
A man in a military uniform was caught on video gesturing at a motorist after crossing the road when the pedestrian light had already turned red.
The incident happened along Hougang Central on Sept 11.
Stomper Jav shared footage of the incident with Stomp and said the pedestrian was 'self-entitled', questioning if such behaviour was acceptable.
He added that the man appeared to be wearing a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) uniform.
"(He was) taking his own sweet time to cross the road when the lights had already turned red for pedestrians," said Jav. "He gestured for the car to stop after being horned at and then pointed his middle finger."
In the video, the traffic lights are seen turning green in favour of vehicles before the man raises his hand to stop a BYD car from moving off.
He then continues towards the pavement, gesturing at the driver and pointing his middle finger before walking away.
In a media reply on the incident, a Mindef spokesperson said: "The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) holds its service personnel to high standards of discipline.
"All service personnel are reminded to uphold high standards of professionalism and public decorum."
