Man tries on luxury watch at Far East Plaza store -- then bolts with it
A man made off with a luxury watch after trying it on at a jewellery store in Far East Plaza on Sept 25.
Stomper Ken alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos he took at the shopping mall.
Police officers were seen inside the shop, while several police vehicles were parked outside the building.
The incident is believed to have taken place at HJ Watch & Jewellery.
A video posted on TikTok by user @bruceleekoh showed a man dressed in black and wearing a face mask entering the store and requesting to try on a watch at about 3.25pm.
A saleswoman can be seen helping him put on one of the watches, only for him to suddenly dash out of the store.
The shop's staff are seen chasing after him in pursuit.
In response to a Stomp query, the police said: "The police confirm that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing."
Ken noted that this is the second such incident at the store in recent years.
In 2019, a man wearing a fake Rolex stole a $150,000 diamond-encrusted Rolex from the same outlet.
