Man trapped under van in Bedok North void deck, rescued by SCDF with hydraulic equipment

A man was rescued after being trapped under a van in a Bedok void deck on Nov 21.

Stomper Ash shared photos of the incident at Block 423 Bedok North Avenue 1.

"The white Nissan van is visible with its driver's side door open, stopped near a concrete pillar," said the Stomper, describing the photos.

"Bicycles can be seen stored in racks nearby. Emergency personnel wearing helmets and safety gear are seen actively working beneath the front section of the van.

"One person appears to be trapped under the vehicle between the front wheels with responders positioned to assist.

"The van bears a company sticker on its side panel identifying it as belonging to Pan Pacific Van & Truck Leasing."

The Stomper didn't know how the person came to be trapped under the vehicle.

"The incident appeared to have drawn attention from residents with onlookers visible in the background," he added.

In response to Stomp queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police said they were alerted to the accident at 7.15pm.

SCDF rescued the man using hydraulic equipment and conveyed him to Changi General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
