Man apprehended after struggling against 4 cops in Punggol Northshore

A man was apprehended by police after a struggle at Punggol Northshore on Monday (July 18).

A video posted online shows four police officers trying to subdue the man who resisted and struggled against the police.

He eventually fell to the ground and was pinned down by the police officers.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at 408B Northshore Drive at about 11.55am.

"A 40-year-old man was subsequently apprehended under Section 7(1) of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008, and was referred to the Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric assessment," said police.
