Man spends $303 on bedsheets and mattress protector, sprains his back trying to get them to fit bed
A man spent $303 on two sets of bedsheets and a mattress protector, but could not get them to fit his bed – and even hurt his back in the process.
Stomper Shortchanged Customer had bought the bedding from a shop in The Clementi Mall on Jan 9.
"Despite having the same dimensions as my mattress, the bedsheets were damaged and couldn't fully fit my mattress. The protector couldn't fit into my mattress as well, much to my chagrin," explained the Stomper.
"I tried to solve the problem by fixing the bedsheets and mattress protector countless times, to no avail. I ended up spraining my back and lower limbs."
He said he contacted the shop and was told a refund would not be possible, but he persisted until a staff member agreed to an exchange.
"She then told me to exchange it for another bedsheet with different materials — Tencel and cotton — as it was bigger. I would have preferred Tencel and bamboo as that was what I bought," said the Stomper.
"However, they didn't have a bigger size for that model. So I reluctantly accepted their offer. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with the mattress protector as they don't have bigger versions of it."
He then checked the price of the new bedsheets and realised they were each $10 cheaper than the two he originally purchased.
"It is only right I get a $20 reimbursement, but they steadfastly refused it!" claimed the Stomper.

"It was bad enough the $303 bedding and protector couldn't fully fit my mattress. It was bad enough no refund could be made. It was bad enough I had to settle for another model with a bigger size.
"Now I have to settle for a cheaper product despite having paid $20 more?"
Stomp has reached out to the shop for more info.
"A $20 difference is not a big sum to me," added the Stomper. "It's a matter of principle here."
