A man crossed the road while the traffic light was not in his favour, then got upset when drivers honked at him.

Stomper Jaslyn shared dashcam footage of the incident that occurred at the junction of Tanjong Katong Road and Mountbatten Road on May 2, at around 7.44pm.

In the video, the man can be seen crossing the road with a woman and a child while the traffic light was not in their favour.

He is seen raising a hand in displeasure in the Stomper's direction and then flashing his middle finger behind his back upon getting honked at.

Jaslyn told Stomp on June 9: "Given the rise in fatal accidents amongst children, I felt compelled to bring attention to the conduct of this man.

"He abruptly crossed in front of my car with his wife and child at a busy traffic junction during the red man signal.

"I braked quickly and the cars behind me honked their horns as they too had to suddenly brake to avoid hitting me.

"The man turned around and scowled at us, then showed us a disgusting vulgar gesture behind his back.

"It's the picture of entitlement that we often see in this country, with no regard for the rules and above the law."

Jaslyn noted that the man also had "no regard for his daughter's safety or other motorists."

She added: "What can we do to educate these people? The law is well-known and the traffic signals are plain for all to see. They just have no regard for it, or for the rest of us.

"The most disturbing thing is, had I not had the quick reflexes to stop in time, his daughter might have ended up like the other tragic fatalities in the news, and I would have ended up culpable.

"If it was an honest mistake or ignorance of the traffic light signals, I can still accept that. However, the vulgar gesture seems to suggest otherwise and reeks of entitlement.

"As jaywalking is illegal and he put myself and his family in danger with impudence, I have made a police report on the matter."
