Is it still there?

A man was disheartened to find that a "huge dead rat" had not been removed from a public walkway in Bukit Merah after more than seven hours.

Stomper Mike shared a photo of the carcass he said was on a footpath at Jalan Membina on Wednesday (April 12).

"I saw this at 6.30am," he recounted. "I called the Tanjong Pagar Town Council at 11am to report it."

The time was past 2pm when he took the photo of the deceased rodent.

"It has been rotting in the sun for hours," said the Stomper.

"So much for a clean and green Singapore!"

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for the Tanjong Pagar Town Council said on Thursday afternoon that the area was not within the town council's boundary but added that the dead animal had since been removed.
