Man nabbed for allegedly stealing gemstone and luxury watch worth $6.2m from Cairnhill Circle home

A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a gemstone and a branded luxury watch, worth a total of $6.2 million, from a residential unit along Cairnhill Circle.

The police said they were alerted to the case of theft on July 2, at around 9pm.

They added: "Through follow-up investigations and ground enquiries, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and swiftly arrested him within 20 hours."

Preliminary investigations revealed that he had also allegedly stolen a handbag, one pair of sandals and one pair of sneakers valued at a total of $46,200 from the same residential unit.

The stolen items were subsequently recovered.

The man will be charged in court on July 5 with the offence of theft in dwelling, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
