Man molests woman at Little India MRT station, arrested in 2 hours
A 53-year-old man was arrested within two hours of a report of a woman molested at Little India MRT station, said police.
The police received the report on Jan 31 at about 2.30pm.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Central Police Division and the Police Operations Command Centre established the identity of the man and arrested him.
Investigations are ongoing.
The man was to be charged in court on Feb 2 with outrage of modesty, which carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, or a fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
The police would like to urge members of the public to remain vigilant and to report the matter to the police immediately if they witness an incident of outrage of modesty, or are aware of someone being a victim of outrage of modesty.
