Man kicks cab, confronts and tries to attack driver at Temple Street: Police investigating
The police are investigating an incident where a man kicked a taxi and attempted to attack its driver at Temple Street on Oct 26.
Stomper Davis, a private-hire vehicle (PHV) driver, alerted Stomp to the incident that happened at about 1.20pm.
"Can you help get some justice for this taxi driver," he asked.
In a video shared by the Stomper, a man is seen about to cross the road, causing the cabby to jam on his brakes.
The man then kicks the side of the ComfortDelGro cab before adjusting his shoe and rushing to confront the driver.
He appears to try to kick and punch the cabby before the driver and his passengers exit the vehicle.
"He dashed out onto the road, kicked the taxi, tried to punch the driver, then ran away," said the Stomper. "So many wrongdoings in a row! It felt very unjust for the taxi driver."
Davis shared that afterwards, the driver parked his taxi by the side of the road.
"I think he was calling the police," he added. "I couldn't stop to help because I also had a passenger."
In response to a Stomp query, a ComfortDelGro spokesperson said: "No one was harmed during the incident and a police report has been filed.
"The safety of our passengers and cabbies remain our top priority."
The police confirmed with Stomp that a report was lodged and that investigations are ongoing.
