Update:

In response to media queries, the police confirmed a report was lodged and said a 27-year-old man is assisting with investigations for a case of dishonest misappropriation of property.

Original article:

A man was caught on video allegedly taking a Choa Chu Kang resident's lingerie from outside her unit, only to return the items after realising his actions were caught on CCTV.

Stomper Sarah alerted Stomp to a Facebook post by resident Elyvi Lim, who shared footage from her CCTV camera showing the incident.

The clips, taken on Jan 31 at about 9.35 am, show the man walking past Elyvi's unit and sifting through laundry hanging outside.

After selecting a few items, he stuffs them into his pants and walks away.

However, as he passes the CCTV camera, his eyes appear to lock onto it, and he seemingly has a change of heart.

The footage then shows him returning the lingerie to the laundry rack before quickly leaving the scene.

Elyvi shared that this had allegedly been going on for some time before she realised it and decided to install a CCTV camera outside her flat.

She is now appealing for information on the man and said he was seen in the Choa Chu Kang and Yew Tee area, near the blocks numbered 600 and above.
