A man felt cheated after discovering the Adidas shoes he got for badminton were not meant for the sport.

Stomper Hock said his wife bought the shoes for him at Waterway Point mall on Nov 14, 2024.

"I started using the shoes after one month because my old shoes were still okay," explained the Stomper.

"But after a few months, somebody told me, 'Hey, bro, these are not suitable for badminton.'"

The Stomper searched online and confirmed that the Adidas Ultraboost shoes were meant for running.

"So I went down to the outlet on Oct 9 to ask for an explanation," recounted the Stomper.

"The first thing they said was that at the time of purchase, the shop was under franchise. But they would check.

"On Oct 16, I went down again. Another manager told me they would check and asked for my best solution. I told them one-to-one exchange or a refund because they were cheating.

"On Oct 23, I went down again. They told me they didn't sell badminton shoes and asked me to exchange them for jogging shoes. I don't jog. So I didn't accept. They said they would email their main office to ask how to settle this.

"On Oct 30, I went down again, they said haven't received an email from the main office. But I called the main office that day. They said didn't receive any email from the outlet."

He asked: "So I should trust who?"

Adidas Singapore allows returns for most items for a full refund within 30 days, provided the items are unused, in their original condition with tags attached and in their original packaging.

Exchanges are generally not allowed.
