A man jogging in Bishan confronted two guys fishing next to a "no fishing" sign at Kallang River and got insulted for his trouble.

Stomper SK shared a video of the incident on the Kallang Park Connector near Block 156 Bishan Street 13 on Sept 1.

"I was running along the Kallang River and saw two boys fishing in front of a 'no fishing' sign," recounted the Stomper.

"I noticed that they caught a large fish, approximately two feet in length and left it on the ground inhumanely without any water.

"The fish was not even in a box but just laying on the floor. Upon confronting them on their actions, the boys just ignored me and continued to fish."

At one point in the video, one of the guys can be heard snapping back at the Stomper: "Your mother."

The Stomper said: "After repeated confrontations, they started hurling vulgarities at me after I stopped recording them."

According to the "no fishing" sign by national water agency PUB, offenders can be fined up to $3,000.

The Stomper also shared photos of one of the guys posing with the fish they caught and the other about to take a picture.

"You can see they even posed with the caught fish showing no remorse for their actions and they will continue to fish illegally," added the Stomper.

Fishing is permitted at selected reservoirs and waterways. For a list of designated fishing locations, check out PUB's website.
