Man caught eating durian in Choa Chu Kang library again in same outfit, may be banned if he persists
A man who was caught on camera eating durian in Choa Chu Kang Public Library on at least two separate occasions may be barred from future visits.
Stomper Jian Wei first spotted the man in the library in Lot One shopping mall on at 8.20pm on May 13.
The video of the latter incident showed the man ignoring a librarian who advised him to leave, alongside a security guard who approached him.
More than two weeks later at 8.34pm on May 31, Jian Wei saw the same man eating durian in the library again. He was even in the same blue shirt and grey shorts.
In a new video shared by Jian Wei, library and security staff are seen standing around the man, who was completely unbothered.
One of the staff said: "You go. I'll call the police."
This did not seem to affect the man, who continued his feast even as three staff members watched.
In response to a Stomp query, a spokeswoman from the National Library Board (NLB) said it is aware of both incidents.
She said about the latest case: "NLB is aware of the May 31 incident of a patron consuming durians in the library, and his repeated behaviour of not observing library etiquette.
"We have been taking prompt action each time to engage the patron. We have also been engaging security personnel, including mall security, for further assistance as well.
"If the patron persists with his disruptive behaviour, we may also deny him entry on subsequent visits."
