Man to be charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking woman with knife at Kallang Wave Mall
A 26-year-old man will be charged in court on July 15 with attempted murder after allegedly attacking a woman with a knife at Kallang Wave Mall.
The police said in a statement that they received a call for assistance at the mall on July 14 at about 1.25am.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had attacked a 29-year-old woman with a knife.
Members of the public disarmed and detained him before police officers arrested him.
The woman was taken to the hospital, where she received treatment for her injuries. She is currently in a stable condition.
The police said they will also be seeking a court order for him to be remanded for psychiatric assessment.
If found guilty, the man could be jailed for life, or jailed for up to 20 years with a fine and caning.
Investigations are ongoing.
