Man arrested for outrage of modesty at hair salon in SMU, suspected of molesting 2 other women

A 41-year-old man allegedly molested a woman in a hair salon at 70 Stamford Road on June 26 at about 12.30pm, said the police in a June 27 news release.

The address is the location of Li Ka Shing Library in the Singapore Management University. The only hair salon listed in the building is called afterXroom.

Through follow-up investigations, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within five hours of the report.

Further investigations revealed that the man had also allegedly molested two other women on separate occasions.

In another case on the same day, a 53-year-old man allegedly molested a woman in the void deck of Block 16 Teck Whye Lane at about 3.25pm.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras and CCTV, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within 12 hours.

Both men were to be charged in court on June 18 with one count of outrage of modesty each.

The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, a fine, caning or any combination of such punishments.
