Lovesick guy tries to win back ex-GF with 99 watermelons, fails miserably

A university student from Henan wanted to win back his ex-girlfriend and decided that a grand public gesture would be the best way to do it.
He placed 99 watermelons in his school's sports field with a cake that attracted several onlookers to see what the fuss was about.
Alas, the object of his affection failed to show up but campus security arrived promptly to break up the event and disperse the crowd, reports Shanghaiist.
Fortunately for the crowd at least, they walked away with free watermelons while the poor guy was left with a broken heart.
