Two boys were spotted vaping on the Toa Payoh MRT platform on the evening of Sept 26.

Stomper TP shared a video of the duo sitting on the floor and leaning against the side of an escalator at about 9.45pm.

One boy can be seen blowing smoke out of his mouth before curling up on the floor next to his friend.

On Aug 18, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has warned that commuters caught vaping will be removed from public transport premises, and the police may be called in for those found to be intoxicated.

"Our station staff are on active patrol to keep our public transport spaces safe and smoke-free. Anyone caught vaping will be removed from the premises and reported to authorities," added LTA in its social media post.

On the same day, SMRT also posted: "We enforce a zero-tolerance policy and will not hesitate to report offenders to the relevant authorities."

Since Sept 1, vaping carries a fine of $500 for those below 18 years old and $700 for those older.

Regardless of age, those caught using Kpods will be required to attend rehabilitation for up to six months for the first offence. Those caught a second time will have to undergo mandatory supervision for six months, which will include drug testing and rehabilitation.
