Knife attack at People's Park Complex: Woman allegedly slashed men to 'seek revenge'

A 37-year-old woman allegedly slashed two men with a knife outside a food stall at People's Park Complex.

Rumoured to have been facing relationship problems, the woman slashed two Gulixiang Cooked Food employees at around 8.45pm on March 19.

Another member of the public was slightly injured when he tried to stop the woman.

The woman was subsequently arrested on the spot.

When a reporter from Shin Min Daily News arrived at the scene, the site of the incident was cordoned off with numerous police offers surrounding the area.

Investigators were also seen taking photographs of evidence at the site.

The floor inside the cooked food stall was covered in bloodstains, with bloodstained tissues littered all around.

Crime scene markers were also observed, alongside evidence boxes believed to contain a kitchen knife.

An unnamed witness said that there was a sudden commotion and a woman shouting loudly, but the specific context was unclear.

The witness then saw staff from other stores rushing in to help, and the police arriving soon after.

It is understood that the woman involved, suspected to be facing relationship issues, brought a kitchen knife to the scene to 'seek revenge' in physically hurting the two men.

One of them was stabbed in the abdomen and shoulder, while the other had his fingers cut.

Another man who came forward to assist also suffered minor injuries while pulling away the perpetrator.

Members of the public told a Shin Min reporter that they had seen the woman around the area before and that people knew her.

It is understood that she is not an employee of Gulixiang Cooked Food but works as a therapist at a traditional Chinese medicine clinic in the area.

When the reporter visited the clinic, staff she she was not working and were unwilling to disclose more details.

In response to media queries, the police said that two men, aged 41 and 30, were taken to the hospital conscious, while another 42-year-old man suffered minor injuries but refused to be sent to the hospital.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested on voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon.

The police have seized a kitchen knife as evidence. Police investigations are ongoing.
