A Kia driver was caught on camera reversing into a parked car in a Choa Chu Kang carpark and then just driving off.

A Stomper shared dash cam video of the incident and said it happened in the Limbang Shopping Centre multi-storey carpark on May 12.

The video shows the silver Kia backing into a lot next to the Stomper's parked car and bumping into the parked car as the camera shook.

A passer-by can also be seen looking back at the Kia in an apparent reaction to the collision.

The Kia driver then seemed to change his or her mind about parking there and drove off.

The Stomper also shared photos of the damage to his car, which was dented near the right front wheel.

"I would appreciate your help to post this as the driver refused to file a police report and insurance is unable to claim due to a loophole," said the Stomper.

The loophole is that if the other party does not report the accident, the Stomper would not be able to recover the cost of repairing his car from the other party's insurance company.

The driver has not been able to recover money to fix his car's dented boot, as the other motorist has refused to report the incident to his insurer.Posted by The Straits Times on Sunday, January 9, 2022
