Joanne Peh asks Minister Chan Chun Sing if he goes for facials, he says he uses SAF camouflage paint
It was a joke?
When actress Joanne Peh asked Education Minister Chan Chun Sing whether he used sunblock or went for facials, he said he used Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) camouflage paint.
The former Chief of Army added: "You ask all the army guys and they all look very good."
Playing along, Peh said: "It will block my pores, I cannot use your SAF camouflage."
The Q&A was part of a video posted on Instagram by Mr Chan and Peh on Oct 4 to promote a programme called A Conversation With Minister.
Asked whether he regretted becoming a minister, Mr Chan answered with one word: "No."
Peh cheekily pointed out: "Of course, he has to say no."
Reading another question from her phone, she asked the minister why we are not learning about financial management and nutrition in school.
He replied: "We're going to teach all this, but every time we want to add something to the syllabus, we must also ask ourselves what we want to take out.
"Otherwise, we have too many things to teach, right?
"And some of these things are not necessarily learnt in school. They can can also be learnt at home, outside of school."
In response to another question, Mr Chan also shared that he wishes he could learn to play a musical instrument as he is musically challenged, probably tone deaf and has no sense of rhythm.
"Someone suggested that maybe I should start with a triangle. For someone like me, that's not very easy," said the minister.
Perhaps he can get some tips from a noted guitarist who happens to be his colleague, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
