Indian family invite lion dance troupe to their home for Thaipusam -- with a special guest
How do you celebrate two holidays in one?
Thaipusam is a festival celebrated by Hindus of Tamil descent in Singapore in the Tamil month of Thai, which falls between Jan 14 and Feb 14 every year.
This year, the festival fell on Feb 11, which, as pointed out by Stomper Subashiniwilliam, also happens to be during the Chinese New Year festive period.
"Traditionally, Thaipusam prayers are held one or three days prior to the event," said the Stomper.
"Thus, many Indians would start fasting for it piously. Feb 10 marked the third day of prayers for Thaipusam and many Hindus have commenced their prayers.
"What happened differently was Mr and Mrs Thineshkumar's family invited lion dancers to their home and made the prayers and blessing a notch different."

Sharing a video of the occasion, the Stomper said: "The presence of lion dancers stole the show. From the 79-year-old grandma to the three-year-old child, all were excited and welcomed the troupe with open hands.
"Their excitement was a testament to the diverse and rich culture that Singaporeans hold dear to our hearts."
A special guest in the form of the God of Fortune also appeared to the delight of those present.
