How did it get there? Hideous fish with spikes and humanoid teeth stuck on tree at Punggol Promenade

Stomper Lau Lup was visiting Punggol Promenade when he saw what appeared to be fish on a tree trunk yesterday (Sat, Oct 22) afternoon.
Upon closer inspection, he was shocked by the hideous appearance of the fish.
It had spikes on the top and bottom bottom portions of its body.
It also had huge, bulging eyes and a creepy set of teeth that looked humanoid.
"How did it get there? Is this an endangered species," asked Lau Lup.
"It looks alien to me. Maybe readers can identify this fish species and explain how it met its demise on a tree."
