Hougang resident appalled by 'human faeces' left outside CC for almost a week
A Stomper was appalled to see what he described as human faeces on the ground outside Aljunied Community Centre (CC) in Hougang for almost a week.
Stomper Hougang KP said he first spotted the faeces in front of the CC on Aug 6. The location was later confirmed to be Block 110 Hougang Avenue 1.
"I often pass by the area and saw the human faeces there for about a week," he said.
The Stomper said he initially gave feedback to the CC, but was told by staff that they could not do anything and suggested he contact the town council.
"I called Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) on Aug 11 and they told me they would remove and clean it. By last night, the faeces was gone," he added.
"Please do not forget, it was there for many days.
"If you saw human faeces or even animal faeces on the pathway, of course you would feel uncomfortable," he said.
"It's a hygiene problem. I felt the cleaners, who are responsible for keeping the common area clean, unfortunately did not do their job."
In response to a Stomp query, AHTC said: "The incident took place at Block 110 Hougang Avenue 1, not Block 101 as previously stated.
"Upon ascertaining the correct information, our conservancy cleaners were promptly deployed to remove the faeces and sanitise the affected area."
