Holland Village cafe staffer upset after 'idiot customer' leaves bad review over free drink swop

A staff member at a café in Holland Village has spoken out after a disgruntled GrabFood customer left a negative review over a rejected drink swap request.

Stomper Anonymous told Stomp he was working at the café on June 25 when he had to handle a special request from a GrabFood customer.

The customer asked to replace a complimentary winter melon tea, included with her meal, with a soya bean milk drink instead.

"Free items are non-exchangeable," he said.

This did not sit well with the customer, who did not seem to think there was a valid reason for not attending to her wants.

"That idiot customer got mad," the Stomper explained.

"She even left us one-star Google reviews and accused the staff of having bad attitudes."

One review wrote: "Worst staff attitude. Soya bean and winter melon are the same price but cannot be changed."

The Stomper defended the staff, saying: "It's not our fault, gifts should not be exchangeable."

"She blamed our attitude problem, but we did not even serve her. She ordered via delivery."
