A Grab delivery rider was caught on camera dragging bags containing food from Jollibee across the floor at Suntec City.

Stomper Dan told Stomp the incident occurred at the Jollibee outlet in Suntec City on Sunday (April 13) at 12.24am

"This Grab driver decided that the best way to transport multiple bags of food is to drag them all the way to his bike," said Dan.

"I do sympathise with him as it was a lot to carry, but he could have just made two trips. It was food he was managing."

He added: "I can't imagine if it was my order being dragged on the floor to me."

In a video shared with Stomp, the delivery rider can be seen hunched over as he drags two huge bags of food and drinks to the carpark.

Dan also questioned whether Grab had any quality or service protocols to prevent such behaviour.

In response to a Stomp query, Grab said it has temporarily suspended the delivery-partner for breaching its code of conduct.

"We're sorry to learn about this incident," a Grab spokesperson said.

"At Grab, we take hygiene seriously and have temporarily suspended the delivery-partner involved for breaching our code of conduct.

"We have also followed up directly with the partner to reinforce the importance of maintaining proper hygiene during all deliveries.

"To better support our delivery-partners, we want to gently remind them that if an order is too large to manage alone, they can initiate a split order directly from the app.

"This will immediately trigger our system to assign another delivery-partner to assist with the delivery without impacting the delivery-partner's earnings or the customer's delivery fees.

"This feature was created to address a common challenge, where most GrabFood and GrabMart deliveries are fulfilled by partners on two-wheelers-making it difficult to safely deliver bulky orders alone.

"The split order function helps prevent cancellations and delays by ensuring such deliveries can be completed more reliably with additional support.

"We are also constantly working to improve our backend systems to better detect large or complex orders early on, so that more partners can be activated to fulfil the order before their arrival at the merchants' stores."
