GrabTaxi driver mistakenly charges passenger $2.30 instead of $27.90, earns only $1.70 for 24.6km trip
It was a costly error for him.
A GrabTaxi driver undercharged a passenger by more than $25 and is unable to get the money back.
Stomper Adrian had driven the passenger from 3 Chin Bee Avenue in Jurong to Beauty World MRT station in Bukit Timah and Nex shopping mall in Serangoon. The total distance was 24.6km.
He said: "I accidentally pressed the wrong fare. The amount is supposed to be $25.60+$2.30=$27.90."
$25.60 was the cost of the trip and $2.30 was the booking fee.
"I only pressed the booking fee for $2.30," lamented the Stomper.
"Grab keeps saying I can't contact the customer. So I never asked for the balance amount back."
And because of the 60-cent commission paid to Grab by the driver, the Stomper earned just $1.70 for the trip.
"For such a long journey, to collect only $1.70 is not fair," he said.
