Gorgeous barn owl makes surprise visit at Oasis Primary School
Hoo's there?
A barn owl paid a visit to Oasis Primary School in Punggol on Dec 5, at around 12.30pm.
Stomper Silviana shared a photo of the bird and said it drew a crowd of "15 to 30 people" at the school's basketball court.
The parent said: "The owl was there for around five minutes. I was very surprised and found it interesting, because usually you can only see owls in the zoo."
Barn owls typically reside in urban structures, including under bridges, abandoned buildings and in natural open-country habitats.
A nocturnal and solitary creature, they shriek instead of hoot.
