A bus passenger ended up with a shard of glass in her leg after a glass panel shattered on Nov 21.

Stomper Raiz shared photos of the pieces of glass on the floorboard of SBS Transit bus service 27.

The bus was heading towards Hougang from Changi Airport.

"It happened around 5.50pm at the junction of Tampines Avenue 5 and Tampines Avenue 4," recounted the Stomper.

"A passenger was possibly leaning on the glass panel. The bus driver braked hard and the glass broke. Glass shards flew in all directions and onto some passengers.

"In one instance, a tiny shard was embedded in a lady passenger's leg. There was a small cut, but no serious injury.

"The bus continued to the next bus stop at NTUC Income @ Tampines Junction, where most of the passengers decided to get off, but some stayed to call the bus hotline to report the incident."

The Stomper said she alighted at the bus stop to take the next bus service 27.

In response to a Stomp query, SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu said: "Thankfully, no one had to be conveyed to the hospital for treatment while passengers onboard were transferred to another bus to continue their journeys.

"Meanwhile, we are looking into the cause of the incident."
