A woman was holding a glass cup of hot drink when it suddenly "exploded" in her hand.

Her co-worker, Stomper Shattered, was with her when it happened in the food court at Techpoint in Ang Mo Kio Street 65 on Oct 23.

"After eating our lunch, two of my colleagues and I purchased three hot drinks at Billion Food Point in the same food court," recounted the Stomper.

"We were sitting down for no more than five minutes when the glass which my lady colleague was holding suddenly 'exploded' and shattered into pieces.

"The spoon flew, glass shards and small particles were scattered everywhere, landing on our table, our drinks and the surrounding floor.

"The spilt liquid left my colleague's top and skirt drenched and some of the glass particles got trapped in her clothing too."

The Stomper shared photos of the glass pieces and the spilt drink on the table and floor.

"The incident left all of us shell-shocked," said the Stomper.

"We were not in the right frame of mind to lodge a complaint to the stall vendor right away. All we wanted to do was to leave the premises fast and send our colleague back home to change and wash up.

"This is a very serious issue which the drinks stall owner need to take action before we see more faulty glasses explode."
