Giant bell falls at Shanghai temple, one woman severely injured
A giant bell suddenly fell on a woman at Shanghai's Jing'an Temple on Sunday morning (Mar 5), trapping her underneath and severely injuring her thigh.
In a picture posted onto Chinese microblogging site Weibo by a netizen on Sunday night, blood stains can be seen around the fallen bell.
Firefighters from the Shanghai Fire Fighting Force can also be seen trying to free the woman whose leg had been reportedly crushed by the bell in the fall, according to Sina.
Chinese reporters contacted the temple, and they confirmed that the accident had occurred.
A hospital said that the woman has undergone surgery for thigh injuries, and is now recovering in the ICU.
