Genki Sushi diner's meal soured by sashimi that looks 'so weird' and server who 'banged cup' on table
It was Christmas, but a diner did not have a merry time at Genki Sushi recently.
Stomper Someone visited the sushi chain's Hillion Mall outlet on Dec 25 and was left disappointed by its food quality as well as service standards.
He said: "Look at the cut of the tuna... It looks so weird compared to the salmon. The size seems like it was cut into half and served. Times are bad, but don't cut a piece into two leh.

"It's my first time here with my family and even my niece said the sashimi looked so different compared to other Genki Sushi outlets.
"A server was kinda rude too. When asked for a refill of green tea, he just came back with a bang of the cup and left. It felt like he was 'putting it here on the way'.
"This will be my last time at Genki Sushi Hillion Mall."
In response to a Stomp query, Genki Sushi said: "We deeply regret to hear about the experience and appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns.
"Regarding the sashimi, we have reviewed the photos provided and will immediately discuss this with our kitchen team to ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to our quality standards. We take such feedback seriously and will reinforce training to maintain consistency across all our outlets.
"We are equally concerned about the customer interaction with our staff. We sincerely apologise if the service provided did not meet his expectations.
"Courtesy and attentiveness are core values we uphold, and we will address this incident with the team to ensure a more respectful and pleasant dining experience for all our customers.
"Customer feedback is invaluable in helping us improve both our food quality and service standards. We are committed to making necessary improvements to ensure that all customers have a positive experience at Genki Sushi.
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention."
