Fruit stall vendor responds to Stomp video of bat eating bananas in Ang Mo Kio
A vendor has responded to an incident in which a bat was seen feeding on bananas at her fruit stall at Block 407 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.
The Singapore Food Agency told Stomp last month that it was investigating the case, which Stomper JJ witnessed on Feb 22 at around 12.15am.
JJ, who recorded a video of the bat, raised food hygiene concerns and said: "I hope to help raise awareness so that fruit vendors will take precautions to protect their produce."
The vendor, Ms He, told Shin Min Daily News that she opened the fruit stall in December 2024 and only learnt about the 'uninvited guest' after watching the Stomp video.
"We have discarded the affected bananas and carefully checked the other fruits," she added. "We now take the fruits back into the stall before closing up."
