'Everywhere was smoky': Fire involving several stalls breaks out in Yishun coffee shop
A fire broke out in a coffee shop at Block 717 Yishun Street 71 on Sept 18.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said firefighters from Yishun Fire Station responded to the blaze at around 6.50pm and found the coffee shop filled with smoke.
"The fire, which involved several stalls, was extinguished by firefighters using a Firefighting Machine and two water jets," SCDF added.
About 100 people were evacuated from nearby premises as a precautionary measure.
There were no reported injuries.
Stomper Danial shared photos of firefighters at the scene and said the coffee shop sustained damage.
Photos taken by Stomper Geraldine, a resident in the area, show smoky skies in the evening.
Geraldine said: "The smell came to our house first, then the smoke, even though we are a street away from the site of the fire.
"Everywhere was smoky."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
