Evacuation slide deployed on flight from Beijing after woman opens emergency door

A passenger on a flight leaving from the Beijing airport caused the plane's evacuation slide to deploy after opening the emergency door, right after she was told not to.

According to a Weibo user, the crew of the Xiamen Airlines flight had just finished their safety demonstration.

During this demonstration, they told passengers not to touch the emergency exit lever in non-emergency situations.

However, this piqued one woman's curiosity and she touched the lever, accidentally deploying the slide.

The airline may now seek compensation from the woman, resulting in a rather expensive plane ticket, reports Shanghaiist.
