An elderly man was caught on camera in a scuffle with four police officers in a coffee shop at Block 261 Serangoon Central.

Stomper Vin shared a 3½-minute video of the incident that took place on March 15 at around 5pm.

In the video, the man can be heard shouting repeatedly in Chinese, "Police are beating people" and "Police are stealing my money."

The police officers eventually carry him out of the coffee shop as bystanders watch.

Vin said a female customer had alerted the police, though he was unsure why, adding that he was accustomed to such commotion.

"It's nothing new to me," explained Vin. "This is always happening in coffee shops."

"I just watched the show and minded my own business."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at at about 4pm.

The  71-year-old man was apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act. He sustained a minor injury and was conscious when taken to the hospital.
